Tony Blair has questioned the Pope's attitude towards homosexuality, arguing that religious leaders must start "rethinking" the issue.

So, Lucy the real question, I believe, is whether your cousin had a life-changing experience with Christ. Jesus said in Luke,

Someone once put it this way:

â€œNo Jesus, no change. Know Jesus, know change.â€

Is your cousin trying to overcome his homosexuality? If he is, that's a good sign that Christ is working in his life.

God is the only one who truly knows our hearts. He's the only one who truly knows your cousin's heart. But if Christ has become the Lord of your cousin's life, then the Holy Spirit will begin to deal with the sin of homosexuality in his life.

I would encourage you to pray daily for your cousin. And I'd encourage you to tell your cousin you are praying for him. God may use you in his life. Thanks for being there and thanks for caring for him.

Gays or lesbians do not go to heaven unless they repent, change their ways and receive Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. I used to have a "to each his own" attitude and thought that it was okay to be gay or a lesbian. However, since reading The Word I know that it is not God's intention but it is anti-God to be gay. He created two sexes for a reason and it is a sin to be with your own gender. The enemy is prevailing in the world because it's now "okay" or even "cool" to be gay nowadays. I pray for the salvation of these people that are in the clutches of the enemy.

My view ani, is to each his/her own. Their choice in life in their sexual preference is their own, as the Lord God gave us free will. I respect their individual choice in life. Their life is their own.

But like you, Mr. Daray, when I read scripture, it tells us the contrary. Scripture is completely against the act, and within Church tradition, it is also considered a sin.

I invite all who are practicing Christians (protestant or catholic, matters not the denomination, christian is christian), one needs to read OLD TESTAMENT as well as NEW TESTAMENT. For those who are serious in reading the bible and knowing what Sacred Scripture teaches about this subject:

Old Testament:

"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."

-Leviticus 18:22

and

New Testament:

"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."

-Romans 1:26-27

again,

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Mr. Daray, this is a great post.

In my tenure in the Newman Catholic Collegiate Conference, a fellow of mine who was a Catholic as well as she was lesbian. She asked this question in our youth group-based bible study within the Catholic Church.

She asked, "Will I go to hell for being a lesbian and having thoughts? Does God hate me for this?"

And our priest/pastor, answered her question so beautifully that touched my own heart. He said, "The Lord God does not hate the sinner, he loves the sinner, he came down from HEAVEN to EARTH for the sinner. So that who so ever believes in HIM, and heeds his laws, will be saved!

our priest/pastor ended by saying, "God Hates the SIN! but he LOVES the sinner!"

Of course salvation is possible. But the act itself is a sin. It is a sin just like adultery, murder, theft, lie, etc.

For anyone to argue that will need to study scripture and christian/catholic doctrine. And I invite them to read the pages of Holy Scripture. And read and accept truth.

The Catholic Church's position on this is that the act is a sin. Like any sin, if it is truly affecting some people's judgement, it is advised that he or she go to Church and repent. And perform the Sacrament of Confession. Confess your sins, whatsoever it may be. And your sin will be absolved. Contrition mandated.

Salvation secured.

This is what I learned when I attended the Collegiate Catholic Conference 2 years ago and proceeding semesters.
