America Has 750,000 Teenage Pregnancies Every Year

The BBC news website looks at the problem of teenage pregnancy in the US after the revelation that the 17-year-old daughter of Alaska Governor and new Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin is pregnant.

The US is said to have one of the worst annual rates of teenage pregnancies in the developed world.

According to a report by Population Action International, published at the end of last year, there were 44 births per 1,000 women aged 15-19 in the US for 2000-2005.

This compares with figures in the UK - itself said to be the country with the worst teenage pregnancy rate in Europe - of 27 births per 1,000 women aged 15-19.

Put differently, America is estimated to have some 750,000 teenage pregnancies a year.  - BBC News Online

Reading this, it's a recent problem, but if you think about it in a genetic and populatory analytical point; one needs to understand that the West is experiencing a considerable drop in population growth rate. Case in point, Western Europe.

The United States, as a developed and leading nation, is the only nation that is immune from the 'pseudo-sterility' of being a well developed nation.

As a nation of over 305 Million people and a growing demographic factor, it's only natural. The United States needs more babies to fuel and supplement our work force in the future. And to secure and augment the American cause for this century and beyond.

We Americans must make sure to propagate and keep USA # 1

A teenage girls´pregnancy is a form of juvenile delinquency!

Teenage pregnancy here in the United States is due to the cultural trend here to the sexuality and sexual life style of Americans in general.

The United States, not only is addicted to energy consumption, but has a very healthy and voracious appetite on all things. Sex, included.

The Sex Education here in the 'states is already failed system since they are teaching abstinence. We were taught of abstinence when I was in high school and I know many of my fellow high school fellows who indulged themselves.

What they need to focus more in Sex Education is the use of contraceptives. There is no denying the sexual acts occurring throughout the United States. Address the problem head on and logically.


Just my view.
