Cebu police laud freezing of self-confessed drug lord’s assetsCEBU CITY, March 9 (PNA) -- The Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO), headed by Senior Supt. Eric Noble, has lauded the decision of the Court of Appeals freezing the multi-million assets of surrendered suspected drug lord Franz Sabalones.
Noble said the freezing of Sabalones' assets will have an impact on the drug operations of his group.
Noble said Sabalones’ group remained active even if he is now in jail.
Sabalones, a native of San Fernando town in southern Cebu, is the brother of the town’s vice mayor, Fralz Sabalones.
He has been under the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame after he surrendered to PNP Director General Ronald “Bato†dela Rosa on August 7, 2016.
The CA ordered the freezing of Sabalones’ assets, which include PHP76 million in his three bank accounts, six lots, a beach resort in San Fernando, six Sports Utility Vehicles and a 6.4-hectare poultry farm.
Noble said it will be difficult for the group of Sabalones to operate because they can no longer access the funds to fuel their operations.
He said this will also scare his people because they are now confused on where they’ll hide the money they get from illegal drugs. (PNA)
