An Open Letter,
Thank you Grazie7y and for others who believed in me, who trusted and defended me from people maligning my reputation. I should have not responded , but my conscience dictates to sow enlightenment to those whose perspectives are not in line with what is noble and beautiful.
First, may I share a cliche:
"Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside of them was superior to circumstance. Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life's deepest joy, true fulfillment. And it is only with the "heart" that one can see rightly what is invisible to the eye".
Throughout my existence, I've never blown my horn on what I've achieved and contributed. I've remained silent for so long despite the numerous people I've touched until such time that a belief was instilled in my deepest core of my being that awards or citations must be recognized for they are the manifestations of gratitude from whom we've touched either through our advocacies and support.
I do understand that individuals who speak ill feelings of others are bitter to the world and their surroundings for they fail to accept that there are more sincere and better persons who find meaning in helping and loving others unconditionally that do not mirror / typify their own identities.
Quoting a line from Ayessa, "Our backward thoughts keep our feet from moving forward". Yes, it is true; for before we get judgmental of others, we must take a look at ourselves and ask who am I. When we assess and accept our own imperfections, we tend to understand the limitations and shortcomings of others.
Much of the universal values and virtues that affirm our human dignity are derived from the value of "self-respect". To know one's worth and to know the worth of others is the true way to earn respect.
Though we have no ethical duty to hold all people in high-esteem or admire them, but we are morally obligated to treat everyone with respect regardless of who they are and what they have.
To you hotandsunnybohol, thank you for displaying your true colors for this gave me an opportunity to share my humble words of wisdom that " no one will dare to cast a stone to a tree which bear no fruits". With such mentality,Bohol may never be hot and sunny anymore.
God bless
Jun Ayag
