GSIS pensioners, members advised to enroll on E-Card now
Published: November 26, 2006 by The Bohol Standard
OLD-age pensioners of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) have only until November 30 to enroll for their Electronic cards (e-cards) at the GSIS Field Office here, GSIS recently advises.
Failure to do so would mean possible suspension of monthly pensions as soon as the GSIS implements the GSIS e-cards for pensioners crediting early next year.
By that time, pensioners without the e-cards could not have their records updated and the GSIS database would show their records empty. This then results to automatic suspension of the monthly pensions, GSIS Bohol Field Office FOU Manager Atty. Douglas Arturo C. Marigomen explains in a press statement sent to the media.
The same is true to active GSIS members who may find that without the e-cards, their membership data reckoning at the GSIS would be suspended and the membership benefits may necessarily be affected.
In this connection, active members and pensioners from Tagbilaran, Cortes, Dauis, Panglao, Baclayon, Alburquerque, Loay, Loboc, Sevilla, Lila, Corella, Sikatuna, Balilihan, Maribojoc, Antequera, Loon, San Isudro and Catigbian who have enrolled and are yet to claim their cards may claim their cards at the GSIS Tagbilaran Field Office starting November 27 to December 15, 2006.
For those from outside the areas mentioned, GSIS said special e-card Distribution Centers are set in Jagna, Ubay, Carmen, Tubigon and Talibon from November 27 to December 8.
For Jagna and its catchment of towns, including Duero, Garcia Hernandez, Valencia, Dimiao, Guindulman and Anda, the distribution center opens November 27, Monday.
The following day, November 28, the e-card distribution team moves to Ubay to serve Anda, Mabini, Candijay, Alicia and Carlos P. Garcia member claimants.
On the 29th, the team again puts shop in Carmen for Dagohoy, Sierra Bullones, Batuan, Bilar, Sagbayan, Calape and Buenavista member claimants.
By November 30, the team pitches camp in Tubigon for the Inabanga, Danao, Clarin, Sagbayan, Calape and Buenavista clients. After a long lull, e-card claim distribution center again opens in Talibon for member claimants from Trinidad, Bien Unido, San Miguel, Getafe and Buenavista.
Even then, GSIS authorities here said pensioners’ and active member representative claiming the e-cards is not allowed even with a special power of attorney.
Claimants still need to bring with them the pensioners identification, office identification for active members and one more valid identification card. (rachiu/PIA)
