Doctor Kazan S. Baluyot was invited and congratulated for being selected by the Society of Vascular Medicine (SVP) penalist and the program committee and trustees of the society headed by Harvard-based incoming president-elect Dr. Joshua Beckman wherein some members composed of cardiologist surgeons from New York, Texas and Massachusetts, diplomats and consultants, interventionist.
The affair is the Convention of the International 21st Annual Scientific Sessions of the Society for Vascular Medicine which starts April 28 to May 3, 2010 to be held at the InterContinental
Cleveland (Ohio) Hotel. On April 29, 2010 Dr. Baluyot will speak from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. during the interactive discussion. His topic is "Near Total IVC Occlusion in a Nephrotic Syndrome Patient Secondary to Membranous Glomerulonephropathy" during the cases over cocktails.
Questions and answers will be done only thru the panelists wherein selected participant may ask only 10 minutes; subjects are interpretation with presentation of present illness and past medical history, noninvasive vascular data, differential diagnosis, key clinical issues, therapeutic dilemma with angiographic studies, its treatment plan and follow-up teaching points. Baluyot research will automatically be the property of International Society of Vascular Medicine.
This will be participated by various countries and more than thousands delegates of cardiologists, surgeons, internists, among other specialties.
Baluyot is the first Filipino doctor invited to present and lectured said topic of said society. He will be accompanied by delegates of cardiologists, surgeons, from hospitals in private practices in Manila and Cebu and other cities.
Baluyot during his medical study days likewise put-up a research wherein is now part of Tokyo College of Medicine. Last year, he was also recognized during the 38th Annual Convention of the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) for garnering first place in the PCP Young Investigators Award in the Analytical Category for his research entitled "The Efficacy of Povidone-Iodine Oral Rinse in Preventing Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial." He had been invited as speaker and presenter in several countries.
Dr. Baluyot took elementary school at the Bohol Wisdom School as valedictorian; his secondary at the Philippine Science High School at Quezon City as honor graduate. He took his pre-med and medicine proper at UP-PGH as Cum Laude and was the best intern. He was chosen as the most exalted brother of UP College of Medicine Mu Sigma Phi and got internal medicine of same school. Presently, he is a consultant fellow cardiologist, diplomate at the Medical City. He is a bachelor.
Kazan is the youngest son of the late Atty. Manuel Baluyot and Fancy S. Baluyot, with brothers Al and Jojo, sisters Judy and Cates, all nurses; Dr. Mary Ann, a pediatrician; and international lawyer Fama. Most of the family members are now in USA. A multi-awardee speaker and researcher is the 3rd generation line of family studying at the University of Philippines as a state scholar. His grandfather Ambrosio first graduate of agriculture and his father Manuel.
