ASSOCIATE JUSTICE GABRIEL TORRERO. INGLES Born on February 27, 1952 in Tagbilaran City, to Aurelio Ingles and Cresenciana Torero. He is married to Maria Alice Corominas Ingles. After almost 20 years of private practice, he took his oath as Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Cebu City, Branch 58 on October 18, 2001. To preserve and promote not only actual but also the appearance of independence of his court, he declined to receive allowances from local government units totalling not less than P48,000.00 per month. He had been an accredited MCLE lecturer on Judicial and Legal Ethics. Had been Dean of the College of Law of the University of San Carlos (USC), Cebu City, from 1994 to 2000, and a professor of law in the same College since 1982 up to the present. During his stint as President of the IBP Cebu City Chapter from 1997 to 1999, he was awarded by the IBP National Office as the "Most Outstanding Chapter President". He is also a recipient of other awards which includes the "Most Outstanding Boholano Award in the field of law" in 2009 given by the Province of Bohol, First Consolidated Bank and a Boholano organization worldwide, and the "Most Outstanding University of San Carlos (USC) Alumnus in the Field of Law" given by the USC Alumni Association, in 2001. He is an ex-seminarian, finished law at the USC College of Law, Cum Laude, in 1981 and passed the bar given the same year.
