Two persons long wanted by police on Monday afternoon voluntarily surrendered to mayor Osaias Flor Jr.
The surrender was made at the office of the mayor.
The surrenderees were identified as Danilo Quisto Olaybar, 36, married, a resident of sitio TTFA (Panaghiusa), Barangay San Vicente this town, and Isaias Polistico Credo, 29, married, of Sitio Lipoton, Zamora, Talibon. Both are facing the same homicide case docketed as Criminal Case No. 02-952.
Mayor Flor immediately turned over the accused surrenderees to P/Insp. Domino Pelecio who immediately commit the same to the BJMP District Jail in Talibon town.
The mayor told the Chronicle that he had long heard of the surrender yet he was unaware the suspects would surrender to him.
Be that as it may, Flor said he was glad of the decision saying if they are innocent of the crime being charged, then they are now free from being wanted persons.
Sometime last week, Mayor Flor also had a hand in the surrender of an escapee who bolted the PNP lock-up jail here.
Flor expressed optimism there maybe another surrender in the offing but he refused to elaborate.
