by PNA - Manila will soon be just an hour away from San Jose, Antique as Cebu-based Midsea Express, a new airline company, commits to serve the
Manila-San Jose, Antique route and vice versa starting August 2012.
Antique Vice Gov. Rosie Dimamay said Glenn Lamela, head of the Commercial Services Dept. of the airline, visited Antique last week.
Lamela inspected the facilities of Evelio B. Javier Airport in the capital town and discussed with the provincial government his firm's commitment to help the Antiqueños.
Dimamay said details of the airline’s operations in Antique like
flight schedules will be finalized in their next meeting.
Dimamay said: “One thing is certain, Midsea Express has committed to serve the Antiqueños and this will definitely be a big boost to the economy of the province.
"Our people will no longer have to endure the more than two hours drive to Santa Barbara, Iloilo to have a comfortable, faster and more convenient travel because we will now have an airplane that will depart and arrive right here in the capital town.â€
According to Lamela, a 19-seater Jetstream, a sophisticated British Aerospace aircraft, will fly the Manila-San Jose, Antique route.
Lamela added Midsea Express will also expand its services and will soon fly Iloilo-Puerto Princesa, Palawan to cater to the growing number of businessmen and tourists.
