How to Delete Pictures Uploaded in Facebook
« on: April 01, 2012, 10:50:28 AM »
Facebook has made it difficult to delete photos uploaded by users. The redesigned photo gallery does not show you a delete button for a picture you want removed from Facebook. Now, here's the guide how to delete pictures uploaded in Facebook.

How do I remove a photo that I added?
To remove a photo from Facebook:

Go to the photo and select the Options menu from menu bar beneath the photo.
Click Delete This Photo.

Note: You won't be able to delete a photo if you didn't upload it. To prevent a photo from appearing on your profile (timeline), click Remove next to On your profile (timeline) at the top of the comment box of the photo.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

I deleted my facebook account. I don't think it is professional for MD's to show off their pictures and their hobbies to possible patients. It is very unprofessional. I now just use Linked for professional networking. :)

When I had facebook, a colleague of mine, who is an M.D, had her pictures public. I told her, "why are you allowing your pictures to be viewed public?". She did not even know it was public mode. So, her patients were viewing her profile pictures, pictures of her trip with her boyfriend etc. Very revealing pictures.

Quite bad actually. She eventually deleted her profile. :)

I deactivated my Facebook last year, Bran. I haven't deleted it, though. I might reactivate it in the future if there is a compelling need to do so.

I received a lot of angry emails last time, Mike. A lot of people thought that I "blocked" them from my account. I have been facebook-free since spring of 2011 :)

I think it is a total waste of my time checking who responds to what and caring about who likes or dislikes a post or picture. I have a colleague in the hospital who, I kid you not, checks his FB account when seeing patients. Very unprofessional. Here is a patient who is coming to you because of an ailment and this particular M.D was too busy checking whether or not people liked a picture of his new car.

Truly an imbecile. He even had the gall to tell me about this afterwards.

It's a good idea, Mike. When you are practicing as a Lawyer, you will be too busy seeing clients and attending the court rather than checking what people did on their free time. Facebook is a useless application for people with plenty of time to kill. As an Attorney, you will be too busy with other pressing matters of importance. :)

True Story:

When I was doing rounds in the ICU, I was looking for a patient's chart because we had to do blood works because patient had occult blood in stools. So I needed the patient's information. I was looking for it for a while , to find out that an R.N who was playing with her Ipod's facebook application had it under her arm. I scolded her, "Do you know how long I am looking for that folder? Can't you just Facebook when you are on break?!"

Stupid gajod. Perhaps she thought that it was far more important to play her bejeweled game on facebook than on the patients in ICU. :)
