Outsourcing firm Accenture is running a training program that would allow its Filipino software developers to be granted certification by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
MIT's Professional Education Programs (MIT-PEP) will help design the Accenture Solutions Delivery Academy, a worldwide initiative that targets to train some 20,000 of the company's workers.
The local Accenture office is enrolling around 100 Filipino software professionals into the program, the company said in a statement.
Employees who successfully complete the program are awarded "application developer" or "application designer" certifications by Accenture and MIT-PEP.
The certification gives recognition to software engineering, system integration and application delivery skills.
