A sunken Bangka and Dauis Bridge.
My personal translation of this photo:The eternal beauty of the island of Bohol. In the center of the picture is a sunken banka , an epitome of human invention that was used to conquer the seas, a testament to human engineering and impeccable design. Yet , despite the design, the numerous travels, the banka returns to the earth, sunken, eroding in its primordial nature as a derivative of a carbonic wood, now in one with the primordial soup that created life, the water, the sea, from whence all life in this earth came from. The presence of the clouds indicate and symbolize the destructive power of the earth, the peculiarity that defines the ecological , stratospheric and atmospheric nature of the planet. Yet there is a eternal peace, a semblance of beauty that cannot be erased despite the external forces of nature and of man-- the beauty of the Island of Bohol remains. The green trees, the plants, the conquest of the roots on some impeculiar rock edifice, signifies the triumph of Bohol over the ever-changing times and external forces. It permeates , it reverberates, it echoes the beauty of simplicity, the paramount triumph of origin over the complexities of the external. From primordial epoch to present times, Bohol stands, from past , to present, to future, Bohol is, will be, and ever shall be.
Man rises and falls, but Bohol shall always be there. A testament , a fingerprint, to the Creator God who designed all things to exist as they exist.
