An arrest warrant was issued against a broadcaster who was charged for libel by Pureza Chatto in connection with a libelous statement issued over the airlanes.
RTC Judge Teofilo Baluma issued the order for the arrest of Rey Blanco, a resident of 70-A Borja Street, this city, after the court found sufficient cause to place him under the custody of the law to stand trial.
The order stemmed from the libel case filed by the wife of the governor after Blanco in his radio program over dyTR said "kini rabang mag-tiayuna murag helas - si mam Pureza ug kini si Congressman Edgar Chatto mga record ani ngilngig. Ang asawa ni Congressman Chatto convicted sa double life sentence sa kaso nga 8 counts of graft and corruption."
The court fixes a P10,000 bail for his provisional liberty.
The order of Judge Baluma was received only yesterday at Camp Dagohoy while the order was dated Nov. 10, 2010 in which it ordered the city PNP chief to execute the order of arrest for Blanco.
The city PNP chief was given 10 days from receipt to execute the order and if the order cannot be served, he was directed to execute an explanation with the Court why the order cannot be served if such is the fact.
