City Councilor Bebiano Inting stood by his cause against the allegedly overcharging Bohol Light Company, Inc., delivering, for the nth time, in the Sangguniang Panlungsod session on Friday a privilege speech to tell the power consumers of the BLCI "lies."
He absorbed the company's branding him of being misinformed and peddling unfounded accusations against the electric utility.
Inting recalled that in its published statement, the BLCI confirmed that its metering charge was not included in the decision under Energy Regulatory Commission Case No. 2007-122RC, "although inadvertently," and that it filed a motion for clarification with the ERC on said charge.
He said the BLCI has been "lying and advertently misleading because its motion was for a prayer for recovery of the difference from the final judgment against its provisional authority which, in its self-serving computation, amounted to P0.0941 per kilowatthour (kwh) collectible for a period of seven months and, among others, if the metering system charge was inadvertently omitted in the final rate schedule."
The ERC, in its decision, authorized the BLCI to recover only the P0.0547 per kwh for a period of 12 months effective on the next billing cycle upon receipt of the said order which was promulgated on July 7, 2008, Inting said.
Under the principle of ejusdem generis, the mention of a general term after the enumeration of specific matters should be held to mean that of the general term or should be of the same nature as the specific matter. - the bohol chronicle
