By Bohol Sunday Post

Bohol Police Supt. Constantino Paul Barot, Jr., provincial director of the Bohol Philippine National Police , last week lowered the boom on four chiefs of police for their failure to stop illegal gambling in their respective areas of responsibility.

Zeroing in on the proliferation of ‘swertres’, the illegal numbers racket in their own localities, Supt. Barot relieved the chiefs of police of this city, Loay, Guindulman and Tubigon.

In relief orders addressed to the mayors of this city and three other towns, Supt. Barot relieved the police duties of Police Inspectors Ricardo Bertulfo Tero of Tubigon Police Station; Albert Abe Bagtang Timpac of this city; Romeo Buyser Jamero of Guindulman and Narciso Cabugason Abapo of Loay Police Station.

Designated as OIC of Loay Police Station was SPO2 Carlon Petronio Pequit Pabatang to fill in the vacated post for the meantime while his replacement has not yet been chosen.

In the case of this city following the relief of its chief, taking his place was Police Inspector Adriano Bacus.

The new chief of police of Guindulman is SPO2 Julius Bitancor following the relief of Inspector Jamero while the new Tubigon OIC is SPO4 Dionisio Bunghanoy Coscos.

Contrary to allegation that he was remiss in his duties to lick illegal gambling in Bohol, Supt. Barot said the relief of the four police officers belied all insinuations that he was looking the other way in implementing anti-gambling laws particularly in stopping the illegal numbers game known as swertres.

He said under the PNP’s One-Strike-Policy, all chiefs of police were mandated to stop at all costs the proliferation of illegal gambling in their areas.

The strict policy cost the COPS’ relief from police duties.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
