Talibon, Bohol - The local Commission on Elections (Comelec) office here had declared last week's synchronized barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections as orderly and generally peaceful, though the election officer here, Lawyer Ranulfo Valmoria, admitted there was a few isolated cases of vote-buying and fetching of SK voters.
In most precincts, casting of votes closed at three in the afternoon, while some had to extend their time to accommodate some voters who just roam around the vicinity of voting centers before they decided to cast their votes.
The canvassing of votes was finished by midnight of the election day.
At least 16 neophytes were elected barangay chiefs and nine incumbents got re-elected.
The new barangay executives are Marciano Yana of Bagacay, Glicerio Bebiro of Burgos, Elpidio Valmoria of Busalian, Byrnah Paculaba of Calituban, Cipriana Paden of Cataban, Joewie Basalo of Nocnocan, Urcelio Evangelista of Poblacion, Juanito Baay of Rizal, Fortunato Cajes of San Carlos, Bernardino Rosales of San Isidro, Lazaro Artiaga of Santo Niño, Clara Puricallan of San Roque, Rolando Avergonzado of Sikatuna, Eldencio Jao of Suba, Rodolfo Cajes pf Tanghaligue, and Prima Tautjo of Zamora.
The re-elected ones are Indalicio Polestico of Balintawak, Romulo Pendon of Guindacpan, Venerando Aparece of Magsaysay, Nestor Torrefiel of Mahanay, Rodrigo Evardo of Sag, Felimon Buno of San Agustin, Engracia Artiaga of San Francisco, Alejo Balundo of San Jose and Dominador Salmeron of San Pedro.
New SK chairpersons are Vincent Gil Sabior for Bagacay, Joel Autentico for Balintawak, Ramonito Soco for Burgos, Glenford Ramos for Busalian, Malona Taneo for Calituban, Christopher Abellar for Cataban, Harvey Torreon for Guindacpan, Jerry Calipes for Magsaysay, Reynaldo Wamar for Mahanay, Loniel Labrada for Nocnocan, Roselyn Soria for Poblacion, Marvin Turtoga for Rizal, Jonalyn Polancos for Sag, Jocel Aurit for San Agustin, Devar Casquejo for San Carlos, Engela Fatima Auxtero for San Francisco, Christopher Gabutan for San Isidro, Corter Palange for San Jose, Aldrin Escartin for Santo Niño, Francisco Auguis for San Pedro, Marites Autentico for San Roque, Melbert Torremocha for Sikatuna, John Leo Evardo for Suba, Pepsy Flores for Tanghaligue and Michael Fuentes for Zamora.
