Local chess player will troop to the new playing venue this coming Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 23 to compete with each other in friendly games during the opening of the chess competition dubbed as "
The 1st MacJac Open Chess Tournament" which will be held at the
MacJac Fast Food Center located along J.S. Torralba St., this city.
The chess event organized by the
Bohol Chess Development Center (BCDC) in cooperation with Archie Sarmiento, proprietor of said business establishment offers cash prizes to the top ten winners where the champion gets the lion share of P3,000.
Runner up will receive P2,000 and P1,000 to the third placer. P500 and P300 will be given to the fourth and fifth placers respectively, while top category champions get P200 each.
Seven round Swiss System will be applied with one hour time control. Game time is set at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. from Sept. 23 to 29. For more information kindly visit the venue and look for Agustin Penales, club manager. (Renzkie Ligan)
