The First Consolidated Bank donated this week a lot to Societas Divinae Charitatis, Inc. as site for its community programs.
The deed of donation was turned over to Rev. Fr. Victor Bompat, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Charitatis by Corazon Cabrera, manager of FCB Cogon Branch.
The donation consists of a parcel of land in Tiptip, Tagbilaran City with an area of 6,000 square meters, valued at P6,000.000.
According to Reverend Father Bompat, Charitatis will use this as site for its formation house and chapel.
Charitatis was founded in 2003 in Tagbilaran city as a non-profit, non-government organization, to look after the spiritual and material needs of the less privileged, blind, deaf mute, handicapped, sickly and elderly.
At present, Charitatis runs livelihood programs that benefit the poor in the community, and operates a dormitory for the blind along Baguio Drive, Taloto, Tagbilaran City. The dormitory also houses the offices and center of Charitatis.
The donation is part of the corporate social responsibility of the bank which includes programs for health, education, and livelihood.
FCB has also donated a 2.4 hectare lot to the Local Government of Guindulman for the Mayuga National School in Mayuga, Guindulman; a 6,225 square meter lot to the Local Government of Alicia as site for its proposed Cayacay public school in Cayacay, Alicia; a 3,277 square meter lot to Barangay Bongbong, Ubay, which is now the site of its barangay hall and multi-purpose center; and a 323 square meter lot to the Diocese of Talibon, which is now the site of the chapel of Barangay Bongbong, Ubay.
