ANGELES CITY – Frédéric von Osten and Sophia Marie Reimers put up swashbuckling performances in their second runs to bring the coveted Open men and open ladies wakeboard titles to Germany yesterday in the exciting conclusion of the World Cable Wakeboard Championships at Deca Wake Park here.
Not letting a sloppy 20.67-performance in the Run 1 pull him down, von Osten bounced back with a gigantic 80.33 effort in Run 2 to rule the roost in the men's competitions, replacing crash-struck Nick Davies of Britain as the new world men Open champ.
