After a record-breaking run by Eduardo "Vertek" Buenavista last week in the Metro Manila leg, the 31st National Milo Marathon resumes its provincial sojourn in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on Sunday, July 29, 2007.

Like last year, Boholanos are expected to embrace the chance to join the early morning festivities and, at the same time, earn slots for the Milo Marathon finals set on Nov. 18 in Metro Manila.

More than 4,000 runners are expected to participate in the 21K elimination race, the 5K fun run and the 3K race for kids 6 to 12 years old where a total cash prize of P159,000 is at stake.

The centerpiece race was ruled by Joseph Penales in the men’s division and Gin Adan in the women’s division here last year.

They are expected to defend their respective crowns on Sunday.

Also on hand on Sunday is the inter-school cheer-dance competition which has become one of the major attractions in the MILO Marathon.

Invited to fire the starting gun in front of the Provincial Capitol Bldg. at exactly 6 a.m is Gov. Erico B. Aumentado assisted by Vice Gov. Ceasar F. Hererra.

Also invited to grace the awarding ceremonies to be held immediately after the races are board members Ae Damalerio and Jose Veloso, Mayor Dan Neri Lim, Vice Mayor Jose Veloso, and Kagawad Kit Uppos.
