Three cyclists from Team Inday Sara of Davao City will see action in the Ronda Pilipinas qualifying race slated Saturday and Sunday in Tarlac.

Dexter Nonato, Ronnie Urdaneta and Eric Donillo are among the 500 riders nationwide vying for the 93 slots for the National Finals.

They will join the 150-km massed start grind from the Tarlac Provincial Sports Complex going around Tarlac Province and cities to finish at the Tarlac Eco Park-Monasterio with the last 4-km uphill climb.

On Sunday the bikers will compete in the the 25-km Individual Time Trial at the sports complex with President Benigno S. Aquino III to fire off the starting gun.

The trip of the trio is sponsored by Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who gave them round trip tickets from Davao to Manila.

They also received P2,000 as food allowance from Allan Gomes of Bisiklita, who also let the riders borrow his set of expensive wheels.

“The wheels cost P150,000. We would also like to thank our city councillors Ryan Alejandre, April May Dayap, Conde Baluran and Vic Advincula Jr. for their help,” said Salvador Paholio Jr., deputy secretary general for Mindanao of PhilCycling.

Alejandre gave P100, Dayap P200 and Baluran P100 while Advincula pledged to given P300 to the riders according to Paholio.
