Manila, Philippines --- The much awaited on-screen reunion between movie queens Amalia Fuentes and Susan Roces, who last worked together in the film “Cover Girls” in the late 1960s, isn’t pushing through, after all.

Following the conclusion of her first taping day, which took all of 24 hours, Amalia decided to quit the teleserye, “Muling Buksan ang Puso,” which would have reunited her with her former rival, Susan Roces.

In an exclusive interview with the Manila Bulletin, the former actress-producer cited creative differences as her reason for resigning from the show.

She also said working for very long hours on the set could be hazardous to her health. Amalia, who is 72, shot her scenes at a rural area in San Juan, Batangas.

She said she was thankful, however, to ABS-CBN for taking good care of her during filming.

Amalia would have played a poor woman antagonist in the story in contrast to Susan Roces’ rich matron role.

“Muling Buksan ang Puso” stars among others Julia Montes, Enchong Dee, Enrique Gil, Dante Rivero, Cherie Gil. -- http://www.mb.com.ph/
