  • : These are dilated, tortuous superficial veins due to chronically increased venous pressure. This predisposes to poor wound helaing and varicose ulcers.

It depends on the procedure, bai bags. Laser therapy is not invasive, but sends high frequency light to pulverize the superficial veins located within the dermis -- this will close -- the veins and reduce the venous pressure.

Ambulatory phlebectomy (the surgical removal of veins), however, is invasive, but it is superficial, so there is no threat of going deep. Prior to surgery, we usually give our patients prophylactic IV antibiotics to reduce the propensity of bacterial infection.

Dali ra kaayo ang procedure, bai bags. Outpatient procedure man ni sila duha.

  • is laser therapy good enough for spider veins, lorenz?  it's unfortunate that i have these now, probably from a lifetime of crossing legs.  they're unsightly, but more than esthetics, i feel they are the cause of numbness in the legs at times.
Republic Act 8485 (Animal Welfare Act of 1998, Philippines), as amended and strengthened by House  Bill 6893 of 2013--- violation means a maximum of P250,000 fine with a corresponding three-year jail term and a minimum of P30,000 fine and six months imprisonment

    hi isles,

    1. yes, increased venous pressure can cause slight numbness in the area affected.
    2. laser therapy is actually the best choice for spider veins
    3. pas-pas ra kaayo ang treatment. depending on the severity, 1-2 visitations is expected.

    Isles,

The latest surgical procedures can be accessible for you there in the Philippines. The premier surgical hospital would be St. Luke's Medical Center.

I have a colleague who is a General Surgeon who works there.

    Here's a link for you:

General Surgeons who specialize in this field usually treat somewhere between 10-15 patients a day.

Very lucrative surgical specialty lagi ni. 8)

  • Isles,

If  you or any friends or family are ever in the greater Chicagoland region, just contact me and I can connect you with one of the best surgeons in the area. I have the honor to be under his wing during General Surgery specialization. ;)

if the equivalent of that price is its cost here in the philippines, that would mean 61,650 to 123,300 pesos at the current exchange rate.  i better forget about it.
