These are the things you are to remember:

1. As soon as the Assesor had given you tax declaration of your proeprty and you have re ceived the Notice of Assessment, under normal ccircumstances, there is no way for you to have the Market Value/Assessed Value changed for the simple reason that the amounts are too big for you to pay.

2.  Your only recourse is to pay the full amount of the tax and request the Treasurer to place on the receipt "Paid UNDER Protest"

3. Lodge your complain or petition under oath, by attaching all the necessary papers, to the Local Board of Assessment Appeal.  YOU have to make this petition WITHIN 60 DAYS UPON RECEIPT OF THE NOTICE OF ASSESSMENT. Filing petition after the 60-day period is fatal,  as your petition will no longer be entertained.
