this is a claim music students live by.  i believe it.  i was no longer a child when i started to hold a violin, but what i can say now is i even hate the mere sight of guns.  i hope never to have any urgent use for a gun, ever.

meanwhile, does it follow that if you put a gun in a child's hand, that child will never hold a violin?
