George Bernard Shaw, tall and thin, stood in vivid contrast to the fat G. K. Chesterton.
One time, Chesterton remarked to Shaw, “I see there has been a famine in the land.†Shaw retorted: “And I see the cause of it.â€
On another occasion, Shaw said to Chesterton, "If I were as fat as you, I'd hang myself." To which Chesterton replied, "And if I had it in mind to hang myself, I'd use you as the rope."
