DTI–DOLE SIGN JOINT ORDER FOR ACCREDITATION OF GARMENT FIRMS. Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) Secretary and Board of Investments (BOI) Chairman Ramon Lopez (second from right) and Department of Labor & Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III (second from left) recently signed (July 25, 2017) a joint Department Order (DO) on guidelines in accreditation of garments firms during the Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Joint Assembly in Pasay City. According to Sec. Lopez, the DO would serve as a guideline that will promote compliance of companies to international labor standards. The document will also guide the certification process of companies who would want to avail eligibility with the General System of Preferences (GSP). The joint DO is a product of a series of consultative meetings of the two agencies with the Clothing and Textile Industry Tripartite Council (CTITC), and labor and employment sectors since 2010. Sec. Lopez said this cooperation is just the beginning of other possible cooperation between the two agencies to institutionalize accreditation guidelines of industries in the near future. “With this order, we can expect increased investor confidence in the garments industry as we can now certify that we are compliant with international labor standards,” Sec. Lopez concluded. “The signing of the joint guidelines for the garments industry on the certification on labor standards compliance will ensure that are our workers have decent jobs, and that they enjoy the economic benefits that our participation in the global trade brings,” Sec. Bello said. Witnessing the signing were DTI Undersecretary for Industry Development and BOI Managing Head Ceferino S. Rodolfo (right) and DOLE Undersecretary for Labor Relations and Special Concerns Cluster Joel B. Maglunsod (left).

"If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." Search Hotel Search | SitemapRSS Feeds
