ASSISTANT SECRETARY JOSE: Good morning to everyone. I would like to brief you on the President’s visit to Vietnam.
ASSISTANT SECRETARY JOSE: Maayong buntag sa tanan. Gusto ra ko magpahibalo kaninyo sa bisita sa atong Presidente sa Vietnam.
 
As part of his introductory visits to close neighbors in the region, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will conduct an official visit to Vietnam from the 28th to the 29th of September 2016.
Isip kauban sa mga bisita sa pagpaila-ila sa mga silingang sa atong rehiyon, si Presidente Rodrigo Roa Duterte kay maghimo ug opisyal nga pagbisita sa Vietnam sa ika 28 ug 29 nga adlaw sa Setyembre, tuig 2016.
 
While in Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, the President is scheduled to meet with the state President Trần Đại Quang and pay a courtesy call on other top leaders of the Vietnamese government.
Samtang tua sa Hanoi, kapital sa Vietnam, ang Presidente kay eskedyul nga makigkita kang Presidente sa estado, Trần Đại Quang ug muhatag ug pagtahod sa uban pang mga mataas nga mga lider sa gobyerno sa Vietnam.
 
Preparations have also been made for a meeting with the Filipino community in Vietnam who are expected to travel to Hanoi from various parts of the country. There are an estimated 3,800 Filipinos in Vietnam.
Nahimo na pud ang mga pagpangandam para sa pakigkita sa komunidad sa mga Pilipino didto sa Vietnam, nga gidahum nga mubiyahe padulong Hanoi gikan sa laing-laing parte sa nasud. Gibana nga naat 3,800 ka Pilipino ang anaa sa Vietnam.
 
It is expected that the President and the Vietnamese leaders will discuss various areas of bilateral exchanges including maritime cooperation, enhancement of law enforcement and defense cooperation, increasing two-way trade and investments, strengthening joint cultural activities, as well heightened exchanges in agriculture and fisheries.
Gidahum nga ang Presidente ug ang mga lider sa Vietnam kay maghisgut sa lain-laing dapit sa bilateral exchange apil na ang kooperasyon sa kadagatan, pagpakusog sa paglambo sa balaod ug kooperasyon sa depensa, pagtaas sa two-way trade ug mga investments, pagpakusog sa mga joint cultural activities, apil na ang pagtaas sa pakigbaylo agrikultura ug pagpangisda.
 
The leaders are also expected to exchange views on regional and international issues. The relations between the two countries have been growing and deepening steadily since formal ties were established on July 12, 1976.
Ang mga lider gidahum pud nga makigbaylo ug mga ideya sa mga rehiyonal ug internasyunal nga mga isyu. Ang relasyon sa duha ka nasud kay nidako ang makanunayong nilawon sukad sukad gisugdan ang pormal nga relasyon niadtong Hulyo 12, 1976.
 
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Kani nga tuig nagmarka sa ika-40 nga annibersaryo sa pagsugod sa diplomatikong relasyon.

The President’s visit to Vietnam at this time will add to the various commemorative activities being done by both the Philippines and Vietnam to celebrate this historical milestone.
Ang pagbisita sa Presidente sa Vietnam karong panahuna magdungan sa lain-laing kalihukan sa paghandum nga gihimo sa Pilipinas ug Vietnam para isaulog kining hinungdanong panghitaboa.
 
Moreover, the President’s visit will also be an opportunity to solidify the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Mas labaw pa, ang pagbisita sa Presidenta maghatag pud ug oppurtinidad para magpalig-on ang pagparis tunga sa duha ka nasud.
 
In speaking with the Vietnam leadership, the President and his counterpart will be able to set the direction and specific activities to be pursued in line with the vision of the joint statement on the establishment of strategic partnership between the Republic of the Philippines and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which was signed in Manila in November 2015.

Initial meeting between the President and Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc was held at the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit and Related Summits on September 6-8, 2016 in Vientiane, Laos.
Ang unang pakigkita sa Presidenta ug sa Prime Minister sa Vietnamn Nguyễn Xuân Phúc kay gihimo sa kilid sa ASEAN Summit and Related Summiits niadtong Setyembre 6-8 sa Vientene, Laos.

we better put our act together because vietnam is fast catching up with us in economic terms. in asean, we're more or less in the middle, after indonesia and before vietnam. vietnam may overtake us soon.
