The number of registered voters in the province has reached 736,468.
This was revealed by Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Eliseo Labaria, saying there is a 10-percent rise from the 656,166 registered for the 2007 elections.
Tagbilaran City registered the biggest number of voters with 48,503.
The top six municipalities with registered voters above 20,000 are Ubay with 35,953; Talibon 30,333; Carmen with 27,549; Inabanga with 26,489; Loon with 25,854; Tubigon with 25,700; and Dauis with 21,558.
Registered voters in the first district is already 238,465 from 212,889; in the second district the number of voters increased to 240,417 from 213,986 and the third district has a total of 257,586 from the previous number of 229,291.
There were 2,950 names of voters that have been deleted by the provincial Comelec due to double entry or double registration, death and for transferring to another residence. No single voter in the province was disenfranchised for failure to vote in two succeeding elections, based on the Comelec report. - Bohol Chronicle
