Muslim group supports President Duterte’s anti-crime campaign
MANILA, Jan. 4 (PNA) -- A Muslim leader of the Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating Council (MRRD-NECC) urged members of Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) to support President Rodrigo Duterte in his campaign against illegal drugs.
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General, Secretary Guiling “Gene†Mamondiong, founder of MRRD-NECC, said the battle against illegal drugs would be more effective with the full-fledged support and cooperation of the ASEAN neighbors.
“We are urging the ASEAN member countries to join the President (Duterte) in his war against illegal drugs and make the Asian countries drug-freeâ€, said Mamondiong who actively helps President Duterte in the fight on illegal drugs.
Mamondiong has appealed to China to help its neighboring nations, especially the Philippines, in its war on illegal drugs.
It would be recalled that Mamondiong challenged the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) and the opposition to help the administration in the campaign on illegal drugs to save the youth from the ill-effects of the stuff.
“I will challenge the CHR and the opposition to join the war of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte against illegal drugs and find out what they can do to protect the rights of the victims of the drug lords, drug protectors and drug pushers. In this way, they will be able to make up for the failures of the past administration," said Mamondiong.
The MRRD-NECC was established prior to the May 2016 national elections to help President Duterte keep the country crime-free, drug-free, corruption-free, insurgency-free and poverty-free.
“The rising incidents of crimes against women and children are drug-related. Molestation and rape cases committed against minors by their parents are drug-related. Ganito na kalala ang problema ng droga sa ating bansa kaya tama lang ang ginagawa ni Pangulong Duterte,†added Mamondiong.
Both the CHR and the opposition have resisted the campaign of the government on drugs but Mamondiong said that the two groups have not done anything to protect the rights of the victims of the crimes linked to drugs.
“If the CHR and the opposition care for the future of next generation, then they should just help the President in the campaign on illegal drugs," said Mamondiong. (PNA)
