DOST-NRCP calls for research proposals for 2017 funding
MANILA, Jan. 4 (PNA) -- The Department of Science and Technology - National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST-NRCP) is calling for research proposals from its members in the fields of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences and Engineering.
The duration of the project is for one year and the proponent promises as one of its output an ISI or Scopus Indexed publication based on the results of the research.
Funding can range from Php300,000 to Php2.5 million. Topics must fall under the National Integrated Basic Research Agenda of the NRCP.
Interested parties may submit proposals to the NRCP office (one electronic copy and one hard copy) and they can send an email to

NRCP said criteria for selection will be based on:
* Scientific basis of the proposal and novelty of approach
Cutting edge research will be given priority over proposals that are mere/extensions application of existing technologies.
* Feasibility of the research to be completed in one year
* Research track record of the proponent
The deadline of submission of proposal is on January 15. Proposals will be screened and will undergo peer review under a committee headed by the chair of the appropriate division where the proposals falls under.
The proponent will be informed by February 15 regarding the decision of the panel. (PNA)
