The Labor Department on Friday replaced Assistant Labor Attache Antonio Villafuerte and Philippine Overseas Labor Officer Adam Musa with two veteran labor attaches in the Philippine Overseas Labor Offices in Riyadh and Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Villafuerte and Musa, are facing investigation in the “sex-for-flight†case following an expose that labor officials either harass or sexually abuse Filipina overseas workers who had sought refuge in the POLO shelters in Saudi Arabia.
The order to replace Villafuerte and Musa is contained in the DOLE Administrative Order No. 262 and A.O. 262-A issued by Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz.
The order also imposes stringent measures that would forestall, pre-empt, and permanently root out the alleged malpractices and misdemeanor against overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), such as the “sex-for-flight" practices.
