One-year and 11-month old twins died after drowning in a deep well Monday morning in barangay San Isidro, Pilar town.
Justin and Jansen Matunhay were to celebrate their birthdays next month until their tragic death.
According to the twin's father Martin Matunhay, Justin and Jansen were left to the care of their 10-year old brother John Philip as he had to work at their farmland together with his wife.
The victims' father said John Philip failed to notice that his brothers had walked outside of their house while the older boy was watching television.
The twins purportedly walked to the family-owned deep well just a few meters from the house.
Responding police of the Pilar PNP Station said the twins were found embracing each other while floating lifeless in the deep well.The well was around 10-meters deep from the ground and was almost filled with water that time due to heavy rains, according to police.
Nearby residents reportedly heard the twins crying but never thought that they fell off the well which has no cover.
Rescuers tried to bring the victims to the Municipal Health Office but was declared dead by Dr. Ma. Luisa Tago.
Police said there was no foul play in the death of the Matunhay twins.
