The University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs recently presented its “Distinguished Alumnus Award” for 2008 to Philippine ambassador to the Netherlands, Romeo Arguelles.

Arguelles had also been Ambassador to Japan, Germany and Peru.

The award recognizes Arguelles “for the professional service he had rendered to the Filipino people and the government of the Philippines.”

The award was presented in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on Oct. 24 by Prof. John Keeler, dean of the university’s Graduate School of Public Administration.

Keeler had earlier written Arguelles of his selection, noting that his remarkable career and professional accomplishments “brought honor to the school.”

Arguelles, said Keeler, is a role model for graduate students. - PNA
