OMB-Luzon closes Calamba Regional Office
31 July 2012

The Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon announced that its Regional Office in Calamba City ceases operations starting today.

The Calamba,Laguna Regional Office, located at the City Hall along Bacnotan Road in Calamba City, is OMB-Luzon’s first Regional Office. Its second Regional Office, located in Rosales, Pangasinan was inaugurated last April 30, 2012.

Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon Gerard Mosquera said that effective July 31, 2012, all operations of the said office shall be conducted and pending complaints evaluated at the Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon, at the Ombudsman Building, Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City.

He explained that the closure of the regional office does not mean it will no longer be providing public service to said area, as the closure is only physical, since services shall continue to be delivered from the Head Office in Quezon City.

He further clarified that the move is meant to maximize the existing personnel complement of OMB-Luzon. “Magagaling ang mga officers natin sa Calamba pero di sila namamaximize so ibabalik natin sila sa Head Office.” There were only eight officers manning the Calamba office.

DO Mosquera added that the services being provided in Calamba were limited to public assistance and mediation, and that even applications for Ombudsman clearance were being brought to the Head Office because all data are in Quezon City.

He advised those with pending requests with the Calamba, Laguna office to contact Ms. Lora Laudato at (049) 545-6789 loc. 8207 or Ms. Lorna Sitjar at (02) 926-8794.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
