PRESS RELEASEThe provincial government, under the leadership of Governor Erico B. Aumentado, gave recognition to ten towns which topped the efficiency rating in real property tax collection during a simple ceremony Monday morning last week after the flag raising ceremony at the Acacia Garden in the Capitol Compound.
Among the ten towns cited for efficient real property tax collection for the year 2006 are
Panglao which achieved an efficiency rating of 140.72%, Catigbian with 135.35%, Corella-131.85%, Clarin-127.82%, Getafe-116.12%, Carmen-110.15%, Bilar-103.5%, Batuan-99.34%, Baclayon-99.13% and Alicia which achieved 96.96% efficiency rating.
Provincial Treasurer Eustaquio Socorin, Provincial Assessor Edgardo Orig, Provincial Board Member Amalia Tirol and Acting HRMDO Romeo Teruel gave the plaques of recognition to the respective municipal treasurers and mayors of the top ten towns who represented their local government units.
PB Member Tirol expressed optimism that the practice of recognizing efficient LGUs will inspire the top ten towns to sustain their efficiency in tax collection and possibly receive the same awards next year.
