Two policemen providing VIP security to ex-Panglao Mayor Doloreich Dumaluan will be investigated after they tried to arrest a witness in a rape-murder case in a botched attempt to prevent him from testifying against the former mayor's brother who is one of those implicated in the case.
Senior Supt. Edgardo Ingking, Bohol PNP provincial director, said he is surprised about the police security to Dumaluan who is no longer a public official.
Ingking said he wants to know the basis for the security detail to Dumaluan saying he is unaware of it until the botched arrest attempt.
"As far as I know, the only one who enjoys the same privilege is Gov. (Erico) Aumentado," the provincial director said.
He did not name the two policemen saying he still has to verify their correct identities.
The two policemen tried to arrest witness George Galo who implicated Teofilo Dumaluan in the rape-murder of Vivian Dumaluan nearly four years ago.
