Hi Gem,

I know Clovis Nazareno. I met him at St Jude Hospital when I was 12 years old. He won't remember that. Clovis is dead already.

I know Pete Lacaba. He was our one of our panelists at the UP National Writers Workshop held in Davao City. He won't remember me. :)

Coycoy Ponte and Reigh Monreal are writers I admired. We know each other. CoyCoy Ponte won first prize in the CPG Memorial Awards for Literature for his poem "Nagsuwat Ako ug Balak Ilawom Sa Kahoy", and my poem entitled "Dili Ikaw Ang Kataposan, Oliver" won the second prize. My poem tackled on the death of a habal-habal driver who was killed in an ambush in Danao.

There are many "ngilngig" writers from Bohol and in Bohol. Some of them are Chito Fuentes, Marjorie Evasco (English professor in DLSU), Sigbin II, Atty. Handel Lagunay, "thisgirlvader" (aka Chinook in Friendster), and the list is never ending. I'll add more after this cup of coffee. Alas kwatro naman diay sa kadlawon. :)

Actually, the names in this list are Loonanons or have Loonanon lineage.  The trivia questions were used during an inter-school contest held in Loon during the culmination of National Arts Month (February 2008). Prior to that there was an exhibition of their works (scripts, books, paintings, records, gowns, etc.) that was mounted at Loon's Center for Developments in Culture, Heritage and the Arts (Charts).  The event hoped to inspire the young Loonanons to become achievers in the future. I hope this will also inspire other Boholanos to do some research on their local sources of pride.
