PSWDOs in Region 6 asked to come up with Social Welfare Sector ProfileSAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique, March 1 (PNA) –- The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officers (PSWDOs) in Western Visayas are being asked by the Social Development Committee (SDC) of the Regional Development Council 6 to come up with their respective Social Welfare Sector Profile.
In an interview Wednesday, SDC chair Rebecca Geamala, who is also the Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Office 6 director, said that during their 1st Quarter SDC meeting Tuesday at NEDA Hall in Iloilo City, they have decided to ask the PSWDOs from the provinces of Antique, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo and even in Iloilo City for the profile that would be done according to the matrix provided them.
The information on the profile would enable the SDC to plan up and recommend services as investment on human capital to the RDC6, which is the highest planning and policy-making body in the region.
The profile would reflect information such as the number of persons with disability, teenage pregnancies, employed and underemployed individuals because of the problem on job skills mismatch and others.
"We also would like to see what services have already been given by the local government units to avoid duplication,†Geamala said.
She added that they expect the profile to be submitted to the SDC by the PSWDOs on or before March 15 since the RDC6 will convene on March 30. (PNA)
