PSA conduct Labor Force Survey in Region 9

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Jan. 13 (PNA) -- The Philippine Statistic Authority (PSA) has called for the cooperation of the public in the ongoing labor force survey (LFS) of the agency.

Ma. Flerida Tan, PSA regional supervising statistical specialist, on Friday said that the survey is aimed to determine the employment, unemployment and underemployment rate of the country.

Tan said the survey started on Monday, January 9, and ends on January 31.

Tan said they have employed 26 enumerators for the conduct of the LFS here in Region 9.

The total target number of households to be surveyed is 1,575.

The questions they would ask in the survey includes the nature of work; status of work; educational attainment; salaries; and other questions pertaining to the household - respondents.

Tan said the result of the LFS would serve as the basis of the government in the formulation of policies and programs on the generation of gainful employment and livelihood opportunities.

The PSA conducts the LFS every January, April, July, and October of the year. (PNA)
