PM Abe leaves Davao to cap two-day state visit in the Philippines

DAVAO CITY, Jan. 13 (PNA) -- Prime Minister Shinzo and wife Akie Abe capped their Davao City visit with a short stopover at the city’s biggest Japanese school on their to the Davao International Airport on Friday noon.

At the Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku (MKD) school, students welcomed the Japanese couple, who went out of their way to shake hands with the students who offered them a Japanese welcome song.

More than 1,000 students waved the Japanese and Philippine flags to welcome the Japanese premier and Mrs. Abe. They then proceeded to the Audio Visual Room to listen to the 25 senior students who were having lectures on Nihongo or the Japanese language.

The Prime Minister even joined the class and taught some Japanese words to the students.

He then wished them good luck and encouraged them to strive and work hard in learning his native tongue.

Bai Le Jean Siang, international student of MKD, said that Shinzo told them to enjoy their lessons and to strive harder.

"He told us that we should have fun, even though it is hard learning Nihongo he said that there will always be a fun time," Siang said.

She said they were overwhelmed by his presence especially that they look up to them as respected leaders.

"I am overwhelmed, for us IS students, we consider him as a rock star, he is someone we look up and he shook my hands unexpectedly," she said.

Dafny Jean Jolo, who is of Japanese descent and also an MKD student, said the Prime Minister wished them to become the bridge of Japan and Philippine's relationship in the future.

After his 10-minute talk with the students, Mr. Abe proceeded to the Francisco Bangoy International Airport for his departure for Australia. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
