MGB said in a statement yesterday that metal output value totaled some P51.21 billion in the first semester, down 26.04% from the P69.24 billion recorded in the same period in 2011.
Total gold output posted the biggest decline in value among all metals, plunging 59.16% to P18.18 billion from P44.52 billion in those comparative periods.
MGB Director Leo L. Jasareno said in the statement that in volume terms, gold production totaled some 8,382 kilograms, 63.24% less than the 22,804 kg recorded in the same period a year ago. - by bworldonline.com
