Motorists will get some relief this week as local oil companies slash prices of petroleum products effective Monday.
Oil giants Petron Corp. and Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. as well as independent players Eastern Petroleum and Sea Oil Philippines Sunday announced reductions in prices of gasoline by 75 centavos per liter, and of diesel and kerosene by 25 centavos a liter.
Independent player Flying V Philippines may also cut prices of gasoline by 80 centavos a liter, and of diesel by 20 centavos a liter, based on its announcement last Friday, said Energy Undersecretary Jose Layug Jr.
The latest price rollback followed price adjustments in the world oil market last week.
Other oil companies had yet to issue their respective advisories as of press time.
