Cauayan City gov’t buys 10 alcohol breath analyzers
CAUAYAN CITY, Isabel, Jan 13 (PNA) -- The city government here has purchased at least 10 units of alcohol breath analyzer to be used in the implementation of Republic Act 10586 otherwise known as Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013.
Mayor Bernard Faustino Dy said the city government has seen the necessity of having the said equipment to immediately analyze the motorists who are involved in accidents if they are under the influence of liquor or not.
Dy said the alcohol breath analyzer will be used by the city’s Rescue 922 and the Cauayan City Police Office (CCPO) personnel during rescue operations.
He said using the alcohol breath analyzer, the rescuers can immediately determine if the drivers involved in accidents are drunk or not and avoid the long process of going to the hospitals to determine the drivers if they are drunk or not.
Meanwhile, Ronald Viloria, Rescue 922 head of LGU – Cauayan City, thanked the local chief executive for the purchase of the said equipment for the rescuers.
Viloria said the equipment will be used by his fellow rescuers as Rescue 922, together with the police, are first responders 24/7 when accidents occurred even outside the city. (PNA)
