Four plumbers drowned after the septic tank where they were doing plumbing and piping work in Ali Mall, Cubao, Quezon City suddenly overflowed before dawn Thursday.
Police Officer 2 Alvin Quisumbing of the Quezon City Police District said the incident transpired at around 3 a.m.when the water inside the septic tank suddenly rose, trapping and drowning the four workers.
He identified the victims as Romy Suarez, his sons Rodel and Rommel, and Marvin Aleman. Their bodies were retrieved at around 6 a.m.
Quisumbing said they are still investigating the incident.
