IT-BPM sector moves to attract other countriesIn response to the anti-outsourcing stance of US President Donald J. Trump, members of the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (ITBPAP) are now moving to attract business from other countries. Most BPO companies in the Philippines are now taking action to expand their clientele, booking more European and Australian clients, noted Michael Gerard Enriquez, chief investments officer of Sun Life of Canada (Philippines) Inc. The country's BPO sector is considered as potentially one of the most directly affected sectors in Trump's protectionist policies. Enriquez and a number of analysts, however, expect revenues from the BPO still to overtake remittances from overseas Filipino workers over the next few years.
