Ayala Center Cebu has recently launched Green Fridays, a campaign to encourage shoppers to use eco-bags or recyclable bags every Friday.

Officials of the mall said the initiative is aimed at protecting the environment by minimizing the use of plastic bags.

Ayala Center Cebu marketing manager Janice Parreno said the advocacy is in collaboration with all the merchants to encourage the use of recyclable bags when shopping.

Unlike previous program, Ayala Center Cebu general manager Joy Poloso said this campaign has already been mandated to all tenants, whether food and non-food establishments.

”We want to build the habit among tenants and shoppers on the use of eco-bags or recyclable bags when shopping every Fridays to eventually lessen the use of plastic bags to save the environment,” Polloso told reporters.

She said they will start with Fridays and eventually roll out the program and make it an everyday habit.

Polloso said mall shoppers could bring their own bag every Friday starting March 9 or buy the Ayala Malls Eco bag, available at the mall’s concierge for P50 each.

Polloso said they bundled the eco-bags campaign with incentives and promotions.

She said participating customers will get a chance to win El Nido travel packages in Palawan and one unit of Avida Village House and Lot.

The promo runs from March 9 to June 8, 2012. The grand raffle draw is scheduled on June 13.

A shopper will get one raffle coupon for every use of the Ayala Malls eco bag or any reusable bags, and paper bag/box when shopping at any merchant of the mall.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
