UP TO 30,000 MICRO-ENTREPS TO BENEFIT FROM THE “ANGAT KITA PROGRAM†IN NEGOSYO CENTERS BY DTI, P&G. Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez (seated; center right) recently (2 February) led the ceremonial signing of the “P&G Angat Kita†Micro-entrepreneurship Development Program with Procter and Gamble (P&G), through its President for Asia Pacific Selling and Market Operations Magesvaran Suranjan (seated; center left). A program for micro-entrepreneurs, which is also one of the key priorities in the current trade agenda, the “P&G Angat Kita Program†is designed to help sari-sari storeowners, gain knowledge, develop business skills, and gain access to start-up capital. Over 1,000 initial participants will receive a Php 2,500 worth of P&G start-up package after successfully finishing a basic merchandising seminar in DTI’s Negosyo Centers. DTI and P&G target to cover 20,000 to 30,000 micro entrepreneurs nationwide, after the initial launching in Metro Manila, including the cities of Manila, Mandaluyong, Makati, Marikina and Quezon City. Joining the trade chief are DTI Undersecretary of Regional Operations Group (ROG) Zenaida Maglaya (seated; rightmost) and P&G Vice President & Philippine Country Head Shankar Viswanathan (seated; leftmost).
