On 24 November 2007, the ALIMANGO Multi-Purpose Cooperative inaugurated their multi-purpose buildings and fish pen project. These projects are designed to complement the implementation of Abatan river tour.
Guests during the inauguration were the Chiefs from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Former Board Member Billy Tongco representing Congressman Edgar M. Chatto and Provincial Board AA Damalerio representing Governor Erico B. Aumentado.
There were 200 peoples witnessed the inauguration, most of them members of the Cooperative. Ms. Mary Ann Jabines, municipal representative delivered a message in behalf of Mayor Leoncio B. Evasco, Jr. which is now in the United States of America for a mission – promoting Maribojoc as one of the tourism destinations in the province of Bohol.
These multi-purpose buildings were funded by DOLE, while the fish pen project was funded by BFAR, and the labor costs was shared by Ms. Alice Mosquisa-Leppner and her friends in London.
These multi-purpose buildings are opened for visitors this coming January 2008, in which, during that time live fish, live sea shells and live crabs, and fruits are available in the community restaurant.
Please come and visits at Sitio Abatan, Lincod, Maribojoc, Bohol, Philippines to find the natural wonder of the place and listen the experience of community on ways of protecting the natural resources inside the Community-Based Forest Management Area (CBFMA). It is about 11 kilometers from the City of Tagbilaran.
