Celebration Town Center
It's impossible not to have a good time in a place called Celebration.
Originally developed by the Walt Disney Company, the master of happy places, Celebration offers the best of small-town America-with a modern twist.
Celebration boasts charming homes, lush, green parks and a relaxing lakefront en route to a block of independently owned boutiques and gift shops. As you stroll through the quaint village, Celebration's close-knit, friendly community will welcome you warmly.
Some of the country's best architects designed Celebration's community buildings, Welcome Center and more than 2,500 homes. Try the walking tour, available online or at the visitor's center, to learn about different buildings throughout downtown. Bustling Market Street's stucco buildings, verandas and arcades call to mind the breezy Caribbean. Clusters of columns give the stately, Philip Johnson-designed Town Hall a postmodern feel, while the Googie cinema has the Jetsons-style architecture of the 1950s.
Colonial, Folk Victorian and Mediterranean-style homes blend together along Celebration's residential streets to create walkable postcards that you'll remember for years.
When you've worked up an appetite, grab a bite at one of Celebration's diverse eateries. Local favorite Columbia Restaurant serves an extensive selection of Spanish and Cuban dishes. They'll even mix a carafe of sangria or toss a famous "1905 Salad" right at your table. Dine al fresco at Celebration Town Tavern, a New England-style fare that's great for happy hour cocktails, a burger in front of the big game or a weekend family outing. Other parts of the world come to Celebration via Café D'Antonio's fresh Italian fare, Ari Sushi's Japanese sushi and Hibachi, and Thai Thani's fresh spring rolls and spicy curry.
Or, pick your own snack. Celebration shows off its bounty every Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (9 a.m. to 12 p.m. during the summer months) at the neighborhood farmers market. Vendors all along Market Street display produce, plants and baked goods for your shopping and snacking pleasure.
Browse fancy clothes, toys, jewelry and other trinkets in Celebration's boutiques. Soft as a Grape sells modern fashion for men, women and kids. Women of all ages will delight in Enchanted Boutique's stylish designs and fragrant perfumes. Animal lovers will love a visit to Woof Gang Bakery to pick up treats for their pets. Children are sure to make a beeline to Once Upon a Time for fun clothing and accessories. The grown-ups can find something sparkly for their sweetheart at Market Street Gallery.
As the name indicates, this town likes to celebrate. The community comes together to enjoy special events that delight adults and kids alike.
Three weekends a year, the Art & Wine Stroll transforms Celebration Town Center into an open-air gallery. With a glass of wine in hand, guests can browse watercolors, oil paintings, charcoal sketches, ceramics and more. Any other weekend, individually peruse Celebration's many art galleries.
In April, auto enthusiasts cruise to Celebration's Exotic Car Festival to ogle vintage vehicles, racecars and Hollywood movie cars, all lined up along the lakefront promenade. Exotic car drivers can give their auto a workout during the Exotic Car Rally.
Fourth of July features a fireworks show, live music, activities for kids and an unforgettable tribute to our nation's veterans-this is a can't-miss event.
Despite year-round warm weather, Celebration sees a white Christmas every day of December during Celebration Town Center's Now Snowing Event. Listen to live music, take photos with Santa and ice skate while the "snow" falls. See more special events happening during your visit.
During your stay in Kissimmee, be sure to include a visit to one of Florida's picture-perfect communities. Book Celebration accommodations for local and Disney vacations. And request a free destination magazine to get all the information you need.
Visit Celebration to experience its small-town charm. Stay to enjoy the good life.
